Hello. I have been checking my credit report for some time and trying to fix whatever I can fix. The item in question was not listed on my credit report the last time I checked.

Today I recieved a call from someone at Whitewing Financial group inc. Out of Texas. I called this number to find out what this was only to walk into a mess.
The guy on the phone is like your typical collection guy, hard ass. He states to me they have purchased a debt from a old credit card I had when I was in college back in 1993. The outstanding balance was $627 and it was charged off in 1997 He is now stating that the balance is almost 1500 dollars. He states they are not a collection agency alot too. Then he goes into how are we going to pay for this and they are willing to waive something but I immediately told him I am not prepared right now to speak about this to him. He then becomes very arguitive, but yet says he is not arguing with me. He asks me if I am refusing and I say that I am not prepared to deal with this at this time and I will get back to him.

Now I really forgot all about this because it was so long ago when I had this card. The last date of activity on this account was 1995 according to the last report I have with that listed on it. He stated that my last payment was in 1997 and I do not remember paying anything on the card. I was a young kid and didn't know any better. Any suggestions on what I should do?
