I'm not a troll. But, considering the negative response I've gotten to merely stating my opinion and recent experience, why would I open myself up to getting negative emails?

As I said in my post, I'm not an expert on this stuff. Whether it be debt management, credit repair, the operating record of any CA, creditor or anything of that nature. And Midland Credit Management may be Satan incarnate. But, the experience that I've had settling with them (or maybe just the woman who happened to handle my account) in the past month or so was very smooth. Is that a crime--to have a smooth settlement process? Was I naive to think that maybe you'd just say, "Great. Good for you. That's one less horrible experience to have during your life on Earth"?

As I said, it's just *my* personal experience with them. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I thought this was a place where people asked questions, shared experiences, information and suggestions. I also, thought (maybe incorrectly?) that everyone is free to post whatever they choose as long as the information is recent, accurate and on-topic. If I was incorrect, please accept my apology.

I've only been reading the content here for a few days. It seemed like a good place to connect with knowledgeable people who could help me get over the few remaining humps in my credit. I would hate to think that I would be unwelcome here simply because I dared to post a positive experience with a hated company or because I dared to suggest that my use of empathy in dealing with CA's has worked well for me.

I mean, geez. Everybody hates metermaids. My blood boils when I see one go by in that horrible little ticket-mobile, but that's their job--to give out stupid tickets. How would I look standing there yelling at the guy, because he's doing his job?

Anyways, I still think that Laurie and Lily (the most recent collection people I've dealt with) are good people--even though they have crappy jobs as collection agents. And, I'd like to think that my empathy strategy (and my communication degree which is the major source of my debt and credit problems) is at least partially responsible for why things went so smoothly, but maybe it's not. Maybe they're just particularly nice people.

Laurie is from Midland Credit Management and Lily is from OSI Collections in Seattle. If you've been having trouble with either of these companies, maybe you can speak with them instead of whomever's been abusing you.

Thanks,
jeje
