I have never posted anything under any other ip than the one I'm using right now. And, I've never used any other name than the one I'm using right now. But, there's no way to prove that to you, is there?

Whether you think it's stupid or whatever, yes, I've paid debts that were beyond SOL. *gasp* I paid them because I did watch my guts full of that cable and I did talk on that phone and I did use that curling iron from the drugstore where I bounced the check that time. I paid it, because I felt it was the right thing to do and doing the right thing was important to me. It was just important to *me* to get my self esteem back. If it's not important to you or you feel like it should be given to charity instead great for *you*.

All you have in this world is word. If your word is no good, you don't have anything! And, you realize how much that's true once you try to rent an apartment and the landlord that original smiled at you gives you this pained look of, "So this is what a financial wreck looks like?" Once they find out that you've had a job all that time your credit was going down the crapper, they won't think of you as a financial wreck anymore. They'll just see you as a jerk who doesn't pay his bills. I don't want to be that person anymore.

Once all of my credit problems are behind me, I'll feel good because I made good on my word, not because I got away with something or managed to sue or give the finger to some collection agency.

I think the more you do stuff like that,-- abuse the law to get out of debts that are yours and you *could pay*, but won't because you don't *have to*,-- the nastier these collection agents feel they have the right to be.

I know this is a waste of time, because you hate collection agencies and have no empathy for the people who simply work there. But, the next time you try to wiggle your way out of a debt by twisting the law around a collection agent's neck, just know that you'll only be making it easier for them to be nastier than ever to the next person they try to collect from.
