Actually, Robert, that's precisely the situation. The only thing on my credit report in a lot cases is the collection agency and NOT the original creditor. A lot of my problems were old utilities: cable, phone, electricity, and gas. I think I read somewhere that some utilities can't turn up on your report. Is this true? Maybe that's the reason the OC isn't there? I understand your point about never paying a CA, but I guess, I just want everything to be "okay", you know? I don't to want threaten to sue, because I don't want to go court and I don't want to file papers. I just want it to go away and I want to free of that "fugitive" feeling I've had ever since college when I got into this mess. Besides, it may be naive or goofy or whatever, but I feel pretty proud of myself for settling a lot of these old, emotional debts for around 25%. I think it's a small price to pay for feeling better about myself. Thanks,
