Right! Go for it. Before you apply for the mortgage, try disputing the entries on your credit report - don't use "not mine" but find some little detail that is incorrect - amount, date, anything. They are so sloppy it isn't hard to find something you can use. If it's a lot of trouble and they got all they're going to get, they may not respond, and in that case, the entry will come off.

Don't dispute more than three at once, they will ingore some. You can do this online with an old credit report number. Just go to each CRA's website and click on "dispute."
