Yes, it is the BoA that is reporting the charge off.
The account was originally with Nations Bank then BoA bought them out.

The account is listed with a #1 as the first digit in the account number. I have contacted BoA many times on this now. They have always maintained to me that they don't have accounts with the #1 listed as first digit. Credit card account numbers always start with a 4 or 6.
This account is being reported by Experian with the correct account number and the duplicate messed up number.
The other two CRA are only reporting the fake account number, but this account has been re-aged by two years.
Its really frustrating.
BoA did a hard inquiry, can they do this?
When I called BoA several weeks ago and complained once again about this account, that same day they did a hard inquiry.
I didn't care at the time as I thought as least this time they are actually doing something. I was confident that they would realize their mistake and correct the problem. In fact when I spoke on the phone with them we agreed at that time that this account was a duplicate tradeline that somehow got the numbers messed up. Also that day I told this person that the account had been re-aged, I know the date of last activity as I got this information from BoA.
