WhyChat, the "paid collection" I had with a collection agency using the name of a "bona fide" consumer reporting agency was deleted. I tried numerous times to get them to validate and they refused because the item was paid by my wife without my knowledge. After searching the FTC opinion letter library, I came across an "impersonating a consumer reporting agency" document, which I used as a violation in my "Notice of Intent to Sue". This blew their minds and they sent a delete letter to the CRA's ASAP. IANS, it pays to investigate.
