Times are tough for everyone, including collection agents. The layoffs, stock market losses, pension fund collapses, loss of interest income for retired folk, and general misery have given rise to some new tactics on the part of collection agents. They no longer can collect easily from "new accounts"- bankruptcies are on the rise astonomically,so they dredge up old "stale" accounts, throw out demand letters, fake law suits , harrassing phone calls and general crap-- see what sticks- to scared uninformed victims, and make up for their other losses by extortion and lies.don't be a victim, fight back.(for those too young to remember, that is how we could tell if the pasta was done, it would stick to the wall)
