What State are you in? Do you have auto insurance with PIP coverage? Did the other drive have auto insurance? Are you suing the other driver for your medical bills? If you had $20k in medical expenses, I will take it that you were severly injuried. I would find a good personal injury attorney to assist you ASAP. Depending on your State, you will only have a limited time to collect from the other driver and the hospital and doctors can and mostly likely will sue you to recover for its services.
