Hi,

I had a delinquent chase card that I stopped paying around May 2000. This past september i made a settlement with Surpas Resources. The total before settlement was $11,000, i settled for 50%.

Last week my old roomate got a letter (this was in a house i lived in at the time i stopped paying) from Cavalry saying that they had purchased the debt from surpas and was now at $15,000.

When i settled with surpas they orignaly sent me a letter saying the amount needed was $8,000. i ignored this and then they called and made the offer for 50$. I have the orignal letter with the $8000 figure, which also states the account would be paid in full, but i do not have the letter they sent after i made the verbal agreement to 50% They told me i would get a letter showing that i had paid and the account was settled yet this letter never arrived. when i called them 2 times after the settlement to find out why they hadn't sent me a reciept of the payment they told me they would send it out right away, yet i never recieved anything. After 4-5 months i forgot
about it.

What should i do come monday when i call these people? Also its interesting that the letter from cavalry came to my old address, not the one i lived at when i settled with surpas.

Do i need to send a validation letter to cavalry?

thanks for any help.

Jesse
