No, don't pay these people. I think I would contact Citibank and find out the status of this "written off" amount. Did Citi tell you they were going to write this off and sell it? Do you have the name of the person you were dealing with at Citibank?

We have some docs availabel that indicate the the original creditor can be held liable for the abusive actions of collectors they sell their accounts to.

Have you received anything in writing from Collectcorp? Have you checked your credit reports to see if they are on there - check inquiries also.
