That is wierd. I think you got some kook on the phone. Some Citbank reps are idiots, others are professionals. It's a shot in the dark, but try Planetfeedback. Letters there go straight to the executive offices. Lay out your entire story, including how rude the billing rep was, and tell them your intention from the start was to pay off the account, but no one told you about the $1,000. Go look the letter format over if you have never used PFB before, and ask any questions you might have. It's easy. Linda
