I'd suggest not making any property transfers prior to bk unless your lawyer says it's OK. Post your state. Many states allow what is known as a wild card exemption that can be used to exempt more expensive cars or other other personal property. Also, the trustee values the cars at firesale prices. So, they may not be worth as much as you think. Since you have made the decision to file bk, there really is nothing to talk about with the creitors. Just let 'em keep calling and when you file, the trustee will let them know.
