First of all, calm down. We don't have debtors prison any longer. The only way this is elevated to criminal is if you used someone else's ss# or, forged a signature to open the account.

Chapter 7does not necessarily require you to liquidate your stuff. If you own a home, a portion of the equity is exempt from creditor seizure. If you have just bough a house, likely you have no equity. Same with a car. You are allowed to keep a certain amount of equity. You will be allowed to keep personal property up to a certain amount. As Why Chat and others have said, you value this stuff at gargage sale prices. Anyway, calm down. Most lawyers give free initial consultations. I'd advise you to consider speaking with a lawyer. In the meantime, don't dig this credit hole any deeper. Quit using credit cards until you make a decision.
