In April I received a call from FFGI and they said I owed over $5000 on a debt from 1989. I laughed and said "13 years ago". They, of course, were very serious, said they had sent a letter, and how was I going to pay them. I said I would have to get the letter first because I didn't know what they were talking about. Anyway, I got a letter that begins, "Continuing to ignore this obligation will not resolver the matter. FFGI has made every attempt to work out arrangements to settle your account." This is the FIRST letter I've ever gotten. So, I sent a cease and desist, and when they called again and I told them I sent a c&d, they said they were not a collection agency so it didn't apply to them. I then sent a validation letter, to which they haven't responded yet.(It's only been twenty days since I've received the green card back). They are still calling every day, but I'm not taking the calls. What should I say to them? THANKS!!!
