If any creditor even gets a HINT that you want to pay anything you will be SUNK !! Unfortunately,the way the system works, the ca's are like sharks, if they smell blood they go into a feeding frenzy. Do NOT apply for a mortgage unless and until you have cleaned your report, AND prevented last minute reinsertions to foul up a closing. If you go to my website, you will find a SOL letter to CA's. Start with that. THEN, dispute them one at a time with the CRA's dispute them as innacurate entries, no such account # or not matching any of my known accounts. When and if you get a deletion IMMEDIATELY reply to the CRA, acknowledging the deletion and requestingthey purge their records of this account to prevent re-insertion,I will be putting a letter to CRA's on my website within the next week or so that you will be able to use, once you get green cards back from the CA's.
