Thanks guys. Yea observer that's correct one is $6500.00 and they tried to settle for $4000.00. I hope they'll go for a lower settlement. I like the lawyer idea, but price and paying lumps out to anyone would kill. I personally would like to see the total debt for the 2 cards down to about $6000.00. I believe at this point, they're so sure they won't get any money that they'll go for the $3000.00. We can do the monthly payments. Especially helpful would be getting a card with 0$ APR for 1/2 year. I work on the net and pull in about $400.00 to $600.00 a month myself now. So I can make payments but paying anybody a lump sum would leave me short and in debt on other bills.

The first that wanted to settle at $4000.00 offered that or paying them $630.00 every 3 weeks and then going to $200.00 a month. I don't think so! Even I'm brighter than that and this whole area is new to me. Plus it's got a years worth of interest racked up that I'd be paying. Thanks Neo as well. I wanted to avoid the entire bk thing. I think I'd faint at the sight of a court room right now.
