Hi,
I believe that I have seen this posted but forgive me I cannot find it. My husband settled an item on my credit report for a department store here in VA 2 years ago. This amount was for $1126. Now I would like to get the rest of the "amount owed" off of my credit report. Along with the entire account deleted if possible. Because Experian is reporting it (the $126 we did not pay) as "past due as of 10-2000", even though it was settled (I don't even think that they are supposed to report it this way)
Anyway :
1.Can someone direct me to a pay for Deletion sample letter.
2If you settle a debt, I thought that on the credit report it was to be reported as settled. Not list the amount not settled as "past due".

Thank you for anyhelp you can offer

-D
