Your "attorney" is a collection agency, pure and simple. The 'attorney' thing is basically used to scare people.. and it works too, but as long as you know they ARE bound by the FDCPA, you have an upper hand on them. They count on people being ignorant of their rights and the fact that they are only collection agencies, despite the tag line 'attorney-at-law' !
