I know the dept of ed can do administrative garnishment according to federal law. They are just like the IRS in that manner because they are part of the federal government. I know when I was dealing with my student loan, I bypassed the collection agency and went directly to the dept of ed, but even the dept of ed wants at least 4 to 500 bucks a month, and we can not afford that. I have thought of consolidation, but we would not be able to afford those payments either. So, if I send the dept of ed what I can afford, like 30 to 50 bucks a month, will that stall them? Thanks again...
