Remove a Paid Charge-off

Does anyone know of a way to remove charge-offs that have been paid in full from my credit report? I have had them all disputed but they have been verified. At the time that I paid these charge-offs I thought that it would help my credit only to find out later that it does not, unless the account is completely deleted or changed to paid in full.
