Can anyone tell me what the process is when you are being sued by a creditor? I received a notice from my local sheriff's office that I am being named as the defendant in a civil law suit and that I need to pick up the papers or they will come serve me at home or at work. I am picking it up today.

I have two cards that I recently let charge off because of the fact that both of the balances increased more than three times due to fees. They were Capitol One and Providian. Does anyone happen to know what I am in for?
