I've been researching my husband's credit card debt and have found the following:

Fleet Bank turned it over a collection agceny (NCO Financial)in Jan of 1998. Then 4 days ago we got a summons naming Portfolio Recovery as the Plaintiff and the Cause of Action reads: "defendant executed an agreement wherein Plaintiff agreed to extend credit on a revolving basis which.....was to be paid in monthly installments. There remains due and owing the sum of $2855.97 plus interest of $1763.35 at the agreed rate of 24%, from 10/99"

Portfolio never gave us credit and the agreed interest rate with Fleet was 14.5% and I don't know what the date 10/99 refers to.

Should I dispute this with them?
