Thank you so much for your wealth of information. A few more questions please...Would I be safe in obtaining a credit report now? I have no idea of what the charge-off dates are on our debts. Would getting a credit report have any affect upon the attorney/CA who got a judgement against me 3 years ago? Our home most likely has a lien on it because the judgement was obtained in our county courthouse. It is only assessed at 23,000, and we bought it for 21,000 3 1/2 years ago. We still owe 15,000 on it. It is in both our names, so as you told me before, they cannot touch it. In MO, the homestead exemption is 8,000. Our two old cars, 1981 and 1984, aren't worth anything. Last year, the attorney/CA kept writing for payment every other month, but since explaining our circumstances, we haven't heard from them in almost a year and a half. I am hoping they do not renew the judgement in 7 years. Our mortgage balloons in 1 1/2 years, with a balance of 12,000. As you have suggested before, we may give a mortgage to one of our daughters, rather than have them simply loan us the money. We will consult an attorney before we do anything.

Also, could you please check the late post on the topic of giving a mortgage from July 2nd, and give your opinion of this? It is...

I am sorry this is so long, but I don't want to make any mistakes because I didn't understand correctly. I am still so overwhelmed by your, and many others, generosity in giving of your time to help so many people. I, in turn, hope to be of help in some small way to others from what I learn from reading the messages on this board. A huge thank you!

Barbara
