According to Why Chat's website, the following snippet has to do with Wage exemptions during bankruptcy. I thought my wages wouldn't be garnished if I declared bankruptcy. What does this mean?

Wages • Exempt except for $250/year per creditor for debtors earning less than $12,000/year and up to 10% of earnings for debtors earning in excess of $50,000/year; up to $1,000 in accrued pre-petition wages and tax refunds also exempt. No wages exempt from spouse or child support claims. Pension payments.
