Mother's debt

My mother has credit card debt. She has a life insurance with my sister and myself as beneficiaries. So long as her insurance covers her burial fees then the insurance would be satisfactory in my eyes. If the creditors take the rest then so be it. What I don't want is to assume her debt. How do I know that I won't assume her credit card debt after her death? Is there an actual document that I can find out about this issue? Her credit cards and car loan are in her name only.
