Collection agents for bad checks are regulated by the FDCPA just like any other ca. Sounds like a scam to me, if they call back, get a tel# and address and name of the ca. If they refuse, tell them you are reporting the call to your State's AG office and your Tel. Co. Fraud division.and do it. Get the exact time of the start and end of the call to report it,even if you have caller id & it show as "private" or "unknown".
