Sure they can reinsert it and there's a slim to not so slim chance they will, BUT reinsertions are very risky for CRAs and they avoid them when possible (possible lawsuits waiting to happen). That said, reinsertions are much easier to dispute. You can call or write and say, "Look, this was already deleted! What's the deal?" That defense doesn't work for an account that was never deleted and was in fact, recently updated. Get me?

BTW, If they do reinsert and don't notify you within 5 business days, they violate FCRA Part (A)(5)(B)(ii) which is $1000 in your pocket.
