Credit Clean Up Time

I currently have about $9,000 in credit card debt and I am going to pay all of it off in full. I have made late payments on a number of occassions on a few of these accounts. If I pay these off in full and have NO debt or open accounts, how long can I expect it to take for my credit rating to clean up?
