I paid a medical bill and I aknowledge that I owe some other debts that with this office. I paid them too. I enclosed a letter from the "Guerrilla Guide to Credit Repair", talked to the person in charge at the OC (medical office) and they agreed to totally expunge the previous bills from my husband's account. The bill I paid had NOT been on my credit report. When I paid all the bills in full the contacted the collection agency. Instead of removing everything, they put it the one for approximately $500 on my credit. They put it on my credit report AFTER my check cleared. It stills shows as open. I haven't called the collection agency, only the dr's office, who states that it will be removed, but take 3 wks and was an accident and they are sending proof to me. They are really surprised and upset too. They know they cashed the check, signed an agreement and authorized for it to be removed. Now what are my rights? What can I do about the one that I paid before it was ever put on my credit, no mini-miranda and I have proof with cleared check? What about hubby's credit? Help please!
