I am well aware what ramifications "signing as a lawyer" may carry--with or without a "legal disclaimer."

FYI, it is generally not illegal to "impersonate" a lawyer, although it may result in civil liability. The "unauthorized practice of law" is illegal in all 50 states, and it requires more than giving free advice as to legal issues.
