Camco calling - what to do?

My husband had a Citibank account when he lived in FL that he stopped paying in 1991. About a year ago, he got a call from Camco while living in IL - since they're a CA, he refused to pay and told them they had no recourse. We moved to NJ and got a call last week - referencing a case number in Cook County. He hasn't called back, and doesn't intend to.

I looked through the FL SOL information, but am unclear on what we should do. A) Does Camco have any recourse? B) Should/can we send cease and desist letter (all we've gotten is one phone message) and C) If we do send a cease and desist, does that acknowledgement cause a problem?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
