If you live in the state there the judgement they can garnish or repo something but enforcement out of state is nearly impossible, especially with such a small amount. They know this, and probably wont waste their time or money getting a judgement. Of course if they have an agent in HI then it would be much easier for them.

I know a little on this topic because I was in reverse where I tried to collect on a company that owed me money and that was out of my state I could never do it.
