I got out of the army in 1993,with some bad debt and zero dollars in my pocket. It has since been nine years and I believe i'm safe by the statute of limitations.I had one judgement, one delinquint loan, and abad credit card. All my bad luck started when i lost a court case, which caused my credit to go from nearly perfect to terrible in the course of one day, because I didn't have the money to pay the guy.At the time iwas still young and very stubborn an refused to pay the guy because even though I lost I still to this day believe in my heart he made a fraudulent case against me.If u can believe this I totaled a 76 cadilac with my motorcycle and caused less then 200 dollars damage to my bike.well anyways there's more to that story, but because of my stubbornness I my my credit went caput and i've struggled for the past several years barely able to keep a decent vehicle on the road so I could keep a job.Now at the age of 35 i'm finally building my credit again a year an ahalf ago I had the chance to take over the payments on a friends trailor, miracleousely the bank gave me a whole new loan andive made 20 payments so far all on timE.About three months ago I figured what the heak i'll try for a truck loan and much to my surprise they gave me one. They told me my old bad credit was to old to use against me andbecause I've been paying good on my trailor they loaned me the money for a semi-new truck one with out holes and rust.i feel like i've been welcomed back to society and I can drive down the road with pride!!!Your probably wondering why i'm telling this great big sob story, well that old debtor is threatening to put me back into that hole I fell into and if I GO BACK THERE I'M AFRAID I'LL NEVER GET OUT.Iccedently I never started a family because I figured I suffer being poor myself without dragging a family thru hard times. In 1993 I went delinquent on a small 500 dollar credit card thru first usa visa and never caught up.with interest and finance charges itquickely shot up to overa thousand dollars. Now nine years later a CA has hired a law firm claiming I owe them over two thousand dollars.ayear ago they tried getting me to refinance and when I didnt accept they threatened verbally to take me to court, and so recentely this company called midland credit management has hired some type of law firm giving me some kind of 30 day notice to pay or go to court.my question is after 9 years can they still do this, and if they do will they garnish my wages?I believe I;m safe by sol and hope I never have to go back in that hole I just got out of.I hate to sound like a whiner but i,m 35 yrs old now and i cant afford to go thru another 7 years bad luck and would like to keep my fresh start.I'M HOPING TO FIND SOMEONE TO MESSAGE WITH OR RESPOND TO HELP ME WITH MY SITUATION SINCEREELY WILLIAM
