If the debt was his, they are mailing it to you to do EXACTLY what they've accomplished: worry and upset you. DO NOT TALK TO THEM IF THEY CALL YOU, and do not be intimidated by calls or messages regarding case and docket numbers, etc.

They can threaten to sue, and threaten to sue out of venue, but if they do that your son has recourse UNLESS someone talks to them and mentions money.

Someone earlier, probably Scott, posted that they may record their conversations. I would say that was nonsense, given the way they threaten folks, except that I believe it is probably correct.

DO communicate with the FTC and other agencies.

If you complain to the BBB ask them how come they accept UNLICENSED organizations in this field. Be specific, they haver a business license, it is the PROFESSIONAL license they don't possess.

If you don't have a way to screen your calls at home, install one. Otherwise you may never know a peaceful day or night for however long it takes them to either entrap you or your son into paying something that will make their claim to the debt legitimate, OR wear you down until you agree to pay, etc.
