I have NEVER advocated filing fraud or mail fraud charges against anyone.

ALL I have said, is that in your letters to CA's or lawyers threatening suit, that it is advisable to inform them that they MAY be in violation of Federal and their State's statutes of fraud.

Some States have very strong consumer protection laws, others do not.

IF a lawsuit has been filed against someone, and I have the opportunity to look up that State's statutes, I will advise them that it APPEARS that the ca lawyer is in violation of the law and I advise them to seek legal council to countersue.

The ONLY time I have mentioned mail fraud, was on another board, and it had NOTHING to do with collection activities, (it was about false names on rrr cards).

The many consumer protection laws that are in place, both Federal and State are complex and difficult to UNDERSTAND.much less enforce and uphold.

It is tempting to use every pOssible weapon to fight for your rights, however if you overuse or misuse or just plain dont understand legal tactics, you just waste your time and make things worse.

If you can't afford, or can't find a qualified lawyer to help you, be VERY careful about do-it-yourself tactics.

There HAVE been cases where an overreaching consumer has wound up not only losing, but being fined for abuse of process.
