Your tone makes this all seem like a get-rich-quick scheme.

Your posts have a lot of good information, but I take exception to your repeated insinuations that harassment by a CA is going to lead to a financial windfall. People should be deligent and create a strong paper trail documenting infractions. I want to be prepared if I have to go to court, but my main objective is to get these people off my back.

I believe much of your advice encourages hasty, sloppy, template responses. I do not think they represent the strongest tactics. I would encourage people to read the opinions of the more senior members of the board and to really READ and try to UNDERSTAND the letters they are writing.

If a CA is trying to collect a debt that is past the SOL, get your AG involved. Many states have strong consumer protection laws and the AG office is good to have on your side. File complaints with the AG + the FTC - build a case, don't start counting $1000 deductions.
