no credit history

In October 2000, I moved with my family from the Netherlands to the USA. Since our arrival. we haven't really established a credit history (pay everything in cash, unfortunately) and as a result, have difficulties getting card. Until now, a company credit card has been really helpfull, however, we are currently in the proces of applying for a mortgage, so that we can buy our own house. Unfortunately, the lack of credit history seems to become a bigger problem and is really hampering our efforts to obtain a mortgage. Does anyone have some advice on what to do now?
