From reading different posts, I can say (in regards to my job) that most debtors are not as informed as you all. Through training, many new collectors break laws all the time but people won't jump on them. I know some newer people who have talked to the spouse of a debtor in Mass, which is a no-no. Any many times a collector will talk to a mother/father of a college debtor because they know they can probably get a payment out of them. These people not having power of attorney on the account, of course. I read someones post about a collector legally revealing too much information to a non-responsible party. This happens all day long but noone does anything about it. :/
