That type of legal work would be billed by the hour or in a lump sum (since there is no "big payoff" to support a contingency fee). Depending on where you live, probably anywhere from $100 to $200 an hour. Total would probably be a few hundred dollars, since dealing with that is not a very time consuming task (usually a few phone calls and letters).

If a lawsuit comes of it, then it gets expensive fast.

(at a billable rate of $150 an hour, you would think I wouldn't be poor...but I am! I only get $15 of it!!)
