Yes, you can sue the person. It's been done.

I think it's fine to sue if you have real violations. I think it is the reality of the suit that usually make them fold, and even then some of them keep trying to intimidate you right up to the last minute. I you are willing to do your homeowrk and take your licks like a man, then go right ahead. It is not immoral or wrong or anything else. If nothing else, you will learn a lot. You may or may not get money. Often people post that they only got a little bit of money. Other cases, "they" don't show up, and you win. The judge is furious and gives you a judgment.

Sometimes the judge gets hung up on whether it's your debt or not. So?? If you did your homework, you do the best you can, maybe you win, maybe not. Are you any worse off? I doubt it. Most of the time they will fold, because they really don't want to face you in court. They want you to turn tail and run, and then they win because you didn't fight back. If it's old debt, if they're breaking the law, if they're being malicious, calling neighbors, calling you at work, and you want to go that far, then do it. I hope you do get their money. More power to you.

My opinion only.

Linda
