How long to wait?

I sent several validation letters to CA.no response. Sent follow-up letters-no response. Sent letters to CB
stating that I can not get any validation out of CA and please delete. They came back as verified. Sent another letter asking how they verified when I can not get validation. They have listed accounts on my reports as "disputed" what does this mean? How long does this tag stay on my reports? Has any one dealt with this before? Thanks for any advice!
