There are many many companies who will process the check prior to the date agreed on. You really can't blame people for being careful about this. I would never give a collector access to my checking account. But then I don't have collectors after me (any more).

See, IF I give you a postdated electronic check and you choose to ignore the date, there is nothing I can do. I don't do postdated checks. If the money isn't in the bank, no check. In Virginia it is a misdemeanor under $200, a felony over $200. I would never ever take that chance.

I do pay bills over the phone, but I use a credit card, not checks.

But getting the check is your job, hehe. Good luck.
