If you defaulted in 1999, you are beyond the SOL for being sued.
If you respond in ANY way, other than a cease and desist/dispute letter, you will be opening yourself up to a pack of trouble.

I wish it were otherwise, the honorable thing SHOULD be to pay your debts, or at the very least pay the collection agencies when they offer you a settlement.

Unfortunately, the system is broken, and the collection agencies are, in general operating in a system that penalizes the person who tries to pay their debts.

They are geared up for a proccess that takes your $$$, resells your balance, allows the bottom feeder scofflaw scum scam ca's access to your personal information, and even if they WANTED to actually "wipe out"the balance, they are prevented by law from doing so.

Take your $$ and contribute it to a worthwhile charity, you will feel much better about not paying those debts, and you will relieve yourself of the burden of fighting the ca's for the next 7 years.
