$8000 is not worth all of the aggravation you are about to endure. The average credit card minimumpayment is 2 1/4% of the balance per month. Have you called the cc company and asked about a hardship program? I'd do anything before I'd let $8K chargeoff.
The SOL in New Jersey is 6 years. That's a long time to try and dodge creditors.
