Exactly. When CAMCO communicated to me on the lawsuit they were threatening, I was flabbergasted by these assertions: 1 -- That I was going to be sued. ANY debt of mine that has been in default is a debt with "last monthly payment made" in 1991. 2 -- That, when I queried where the suit would be filed, I was told it would be filed in Georgia, a state that has no personal jurisdiction over me, whatever, all contracts I have signed being signed in California. 3 -- That the OC insisted the suit be filed in Georgia. 4 -- That I had no legal defense in this pending litigation. 5 -- That above all else, I should not seek legal counsel either in Calif or Georgia. And of course, point zero: 0 -- I was being sued because I had refused a settlement arranged by an individual in their office with a current creditor, this being their "due notice" whatever it was that they were trying to collect a debt. The settlement offer had been $1500, the amount I would be sued for was $6,600 some odd $$$ Need I say, for the benefit of "newbies", that after the conversation with this individual and another in the office degenerated rrom bad to worse, the next phone call I made was to an attorney to get the phone number of one of his buddies who specialized in BK, whom I knew from personal experience dealt with collectors because I had answered his phone for years?
