Judgement proof my car?

I have a car that is completely paid off and worth about 6500.00. It is my only real asset and I want to protect it from possible future judgements. I heard that if I added a lienholder (someone I know) to the title this would prevent it from being taken from me in a lawsuit. Is this true? I live in California by the way. Thanks
