For all intents and purposes, if you reply and disclose that you are exempt from garnishment,have no seizable assets and no large sums of $$ hidden away in accessible bank accounts,then yes, they will give up. They cannot legally force you to pay, so why should you do it voluntarily? Keep the $$ for your child's benefit, don't apply for any new credit, because the scam artists will be after you.
