Does Validation Request show on CR?

My debts are way past the SOL and I have worked hard to rebuild my credit. Now I have a CAMCO letter. If I send a C&D and validation letter to them, are they required to report that I am disputing a debt on my credit report? I don't really want negative info on my report at this point. Would it be better to just send the C&D stating the debt is SOL? Thanks for your help!
