I received a call from a collection agency trying to get me to pay a debt that is not mine. Yes, they (collection agency) say the debt has my social security number on it but it is not showing on any of my credit reports and i know i never opened this account. The debt is from 1997. Can they do anything? I asked them to supply me with something from this debt that has my signature. Have not heard from them yet.
